Birth as a Heroic Journey

As a birth worker, you know that birth is more than a medical event. You want to prepare and support your clients in a way that goes beyond education.  The Birthing From Within philosophy views birth as a rite of passage. Rather than teach how to attain a specific outcome, we help parents hone their self-awareness as their most powerful tool for moving through this passage. 

The Heroic Journey is an ancient mythological motif.  In this workshop you will explore birth through the lens of the Heroic Journey and learn how you can use these metaphors to help parents prepare for and process their birth experience.
